Treasure Coast Tang Soo Do Youth Program at Christi's Family Fitness

About the Youth Program
Christi’s Family Fitness and Treasure Coast Tang Soo Do operate a Youth Karate Program. The Youth Program is administered by Christi's Family Fitness, although Treasure Coast instructors teach all of the children’s' classes. Children between 4 and 9 years of age, who are too young for the intensity and environment of a regular karate class, can participate in the Youth Program. The Youth Program allows younger children to get involved in the martial arts at their level of understanding and capability. Children are trained in physical fitness, basic hand and feet techniques, self-defense, and the theory & philosophy of Tang Soo Do. Much of the Children’s classes are spent in games that revolve around karate themes. Children in the Youth Program are periodically tested and ranked at age-appropriate levels. At the age of ten, or when children have matured sufficiently, they can transfer to the regular Treasure Coast Tang Soo Do classes, at the rank of 8th gup, or Orange belt. The Youth Program classes are taught by an adult black belt instructor, with assistance from junior karate students.
Classes
Youth Program classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM. If you are not certain of the suitability for Youth Karate for your child, feel free to come by, observe class and allow your child to try several classes without obligation.
Registration and sign-up can be done at the front desk at Christi’s. Children can wear clothing suitable for a workout for the first month. If after the first month, parents wish their children to continue in the program, child’s karate uniforms can be obtained from Christi’s.
Treasure Coast Tang Soo Do’s chief instructor, Mr. Campbell, will be available to answer questions Tuesdays and Thursdays before the children’s class. You can also email (jccampbel@comcast.net) or call (772-532-6165) Mr. Campbell for more information.
As with all of the Treasure Coast karate classes, parents and visitors are allowed to visit or remain during class.
