Babysitting Program Guidelines
There are a few important rules that everyone must follow to ensure your children get the best care possible.
-
Please sign your child in upon arrival. Children must be signed in / out by a parent or legal guardian who remains at the gym at all times.
-
Monthly babysitting fees should be added to adult fitness monthly payments. Fees may also be paid annually.
-
Please identify your child's bag with your name and their name. We have tags available.
-
Give the babysitter any special instructions with regard to your child. For example, if your child has any specific allergies, rashes, asthma or is on any prescription medications, please inform us.
-
If your child is in diapers, please make sure he/she has extra diapers and a change of clothes.
-
If your child finds comfort in drinking juice or milk, you may want to include one in your bag and make the babysitters aware that it is available.
-
We do not allow food while in the babysitting room. This helps us keep a clean, sanitary environment for your child and avoids any allergenic problems that could arise from eating other children's food.
-
Bringing a favorite toy, book or video may help a new child feel more comfortable during their first few visits.
-
If your child cries for a period of 10 minutes or more we will come and tell you there is a problem.
-
If your child is sick, please be considerate of the other children and make other arrangements for babysitting until your child is well.
Babysitting Room Rules
Rules in our babysitting room:
-
No running.
-
No throwing.
-
No pushing, shoving or hitting.
-
No talking back or improper language.
-
No writing on walls or furniture.
-
No food other than drinks.
-
No biting
We know the nature of being a child means the rules above will probably be broken from time to time. We believe it is important for parents to know what steps will be taken when the rules are broken.
First, we will speak assertively to your child to correct the behavior. (Always using proper language.) Second, we will take away the toy in question or separate the child from the problem. Third, we will put the child in time-out for a minute or two. Fourth, we will bring the parent(s) to the babysitting room to help. Our biting policy includes one month suspension for any incidents.
We will always try to resolve any conflicts or behavior problems with the parents so that consistent and appropriate discipline is used to help the situation. (Please let the babysitters know what you do or say at home so we can be consistent.) We will never touch your child for disciplinary reasons, only to comfort them or remove them from a potentially dangerous situation.
In the event the child consistently breaks any of the above rules or willfully causes harm to another child, the parents will be asked to make other arrangements for their child for a period of one month.
Being parents, Christi and I know how important the care of your child is, and we will do everything possible to keep the babysitting room environment safe and enjoyable. Please give us your suggestions at any time. Thank you.
